Glowlight Danio - Danio choprae

from £2.60

The Glowlight Danio is a brilliant little firecracker of a fish that will bring endless energy and a gorgeous pop of colour to your aquarium.

Hailing from the streams of Myanmar, these tiny wonders only grow to about 3cm, but they more than make up for their small size with their spectacular looks.

They boast a glowing, neon-orange stripe down their sides, crossed with striking vertical bars that give them a miniature, iridescent tiger-like appearance.

Because they are incredibly active, highly social schooling fish, they are at their absolute happiest and most confident when kept in a lively group of at least six or more. Watching a shimmering shoal of these fast-swimming beauties darting playfully across the middle and upper levels of your tank is a truly mesmerising sight!

Caring for Glowlight Danios is wonderfully straightforward, making them a fantastic choice for both beginners and experienced fishkeepers alike.

They thrive in a well-planted aquarium with plenty of open swimming space in the centre, and because they are such athletic little jumpers, a tight-fitting lid is an absolute must! They are quite adaptable but actually prefer slightly cooler tropical water, usually sitting comfortably between 20-26°C.

When it comes to feeding time, they aren't fussy in the slightest; they will eagerly snap up high-quality crushed flakes, micro pellets, and tiny frozen treats like daphnia or baby brine shrimp to keep their neon colours looking their absolute best.

If you're looking to add some vibrant, fast-paced fun to your community tank, pop down to Pet Aqua—Simon and the team are always on hand to help you get started with these brilliant little fish.
