The Blue Moscow Guppy is a selectively bred fancy strain known for its solid, deep metallic blue colouration covering the entire body and fins with no patterns or spots. The Moscow line originated in Russia in the early 1980s and was developed for its uniform, intense body colour. Males are smaller but far more vividly coloured than females, displaying a rich sapphire to royal-blue sheen that appears almost velvety under good lighting. The strain is entirely captive-bred and does not occur in nature. Males are not fully mature until around 10 months of age.
