The Platinum White Medaka Ricefish is an absolutely stunning little fish that brings a touch of elegance to any aquarium.

With their shimmering pearl-white bodies and delicate, flowing fins, these gorgeous fish almost seem to glow as they swim gracefully through the water. Originally from Japan, where they've been bred for centuries, Medaka ricefish are small and peaceful, typically growing to just 3-4cm in length.

They're incredibly social creatures that love being in groups, so you'll want to keep at least six together to see them at their happiest.

Watch them darting about near the surface of your tank and you'll be mesmerised by their gentle, playful behaviour—they're perfect for bringing life and movement to the upper levels of your aquarium.

Caring for Platinum White Medaka is wonderfully straightforward, making them ideal for beginners and experienced fishkeepers alike.

They're hardy little fish that adapt well to a range of water conditions, though they prefer temperatures between 18-24°C—meaning they can even thrive in unheated tanks in warmer rooms.

A small aquarium of 40 litres or more is plenty of space for a group, and they appreciate having some floating plants where they can explore and feel secure.

Feed them a varied diet of quality flake food, micro pellets, and the occasional treat of live or frozen foods like daphnia or baby brine shrimp. With proper care, these delightful fish can live for 3-4 years, giving you plenty of time to enjoy their beauty.
